The last Tuesday of the month is quickly becoming known among the Seattle cocktail culture as the night to be at The Sorrento Hotel's Fireside Lounge. Oh, and bring your style, charm and social graces while you're at it. Looking at these gorgeous ladies photographed together Lisa Stephenson, Marianna Veress, Galina Peterson and Alex Hayes, it's clear that I'm not exaggerating. This latest get together was "so much fun". At least that's what I kept hearing throughout the evening from the guests. I do take it personally when energetic, stylish, and interesting people turn out for the occasion, and then talk about what a great time they're having. My regular group of gal pals always bring it when it comes to getting put together for a party or event. I was especially impressed with this lovely woman, Galina. She not only brought her handsome and stylish husband, Steven Peterson, she also brought a great personality and the Giuzeppe Zanotti boots  she purchased on a shopping spree in NYC a few years ago. She wore all black, a satiny top and latex leggings. When wearing this much texture and detail, it's best not complicate things with color. The muted colors, neutrals and black of the current trends are in service to the complexity of textures being donned by women who appreciate a glamorous, rock'n'roll aesthetic. I respect Galina's moxie. Compare her boots to these just posted on Style.com by photoblogger Tommy Ton. The Style.com boots are multi colored by contrast, and can come off as "crazy old lady" if not done right. However, the perfect way to do this look is with a bohemian spin, by wearing monochromatic pieces to showcase the boot over just looking busy or kooky. Don't get me wrong- I love "crazy old lady" on women under 25, and on, well, crazy old ladies. Tommy Ton's slideshow is a great example of texture and detail being underscored by black and neutral tones. It's worth clicking to get a good rundown of what's on the streets in Paris. Ironically, it's all so wearable in Seattle.
