As a wardrobe consultant, people often tell me that they try to get in my head and imagine how I  would put certain outfits together. They often call me or email with photos asking for ideas on how to create a look around an item of clothing. This post is designed to give some ideas using the regular events in my day to day life. Dressing specifically for Seattle culture and weather with clothing available downtown. The qualifier is that I will be using items exclusively from Barney's and money is no object-- this is the ideal scenerio. However, in the real world, many of these items can be found for much less at department stores and boutiques, sometimes even at a vintage store or in your own closet. My goal is not to turn you into a compulsive shopper, but rather jump start your imagination, and have some fun. If you are interested in shopping with me, I can be contacted through my website: www.ImpeccableSeattle.com or by phone 206.931.0904 to make an appointment with me or my assistant.

Today, I'm on my way to Portland with my little girl to visit my big girl. We will shop around the Pearl District, get something to eat and make a stop in Vancouver to catch up with a friend. I'm clearly not a man, nor will I be accompanied by one, but I will be listening to Billy Joel, Cheap Trick, and The Ramones on the drive. I decided then to dress my male alter ego to suit the music and the activites that I will be engaging in the easy, casual downtown of Portland. Being a guy, comfort is important, but I have to maintain a certain level of style of course.

Note: All items are available at Barney's located in Pacific Place 600 Pine Street in downtown Seattle- tell them I say "Hello"

In the case of this outfit, the jacket informs the rest of the ensemble. The pieces serve to support the original style personality of the central focus. To go astray, vearing in another direction away from the story the jacket is telling would be to complicate things, and look cluttered. It's important to stick to the story when wearing this sort of item. In any case, I'm thinking the guy cruising down to Portland for the day, will certainly be comfortable, stylish, and effortlessly cool.
