As a wardrobe consultant, people often tell me that they try to get in my head and imagine how I  would put certain outfits together. They often call me or email with photos asking for ideas on how to create a look around an item of clothing. This post is designed to give some ideas using the regular events in my day to day life. Dressing specifically for Seattle culture and weather with clothing available downtown. The qualifier is that I will be using items exclusively from Barney's and money is no object-- this is the ideal scenerio. However, in the real world, many of these items can be found for much less at department stores and boutiques, sometimes even at a vintage store or in your own closet. My goal is not to turn you into a compulsive shopper, but rather jump start your imagination, and have some fun. If you are interested in shopping with me, I can be contacted through my website: www.ImpeccableSeattle.com or by phone 206.931.0904 to make an appointment with me or my assistant.

My day today involves lunch with some friends, and a movie at the Seattle Art Museum with my husband. For the movie we will be walking from our apartment in Belltown, it's about a 20 minute walk, so I need to consider the weather and my shoes. However, I still want to look put together and feel attractive. I'm going for an urban, casual, look that shows my bohemian predisposition which is in line with both my lunch and movie dates, so I won't have to do much changing in between. In my perfect world, the vest worn open would be the "jacket" to complete the look. But given that it may not be warm enough, I threw in a jacket option as well.

The jeans can be exchanged for leggings or opaque tights making the dress look more like a dress, and with the heels it certainly elevates the outfit. Wearing jeans and boots gives the outfit a more casual look and adds a level of practicality for cold weather and walking. I wouldn't wear the and jeans and boots together however, unless I were freezing cold. I would wear the open toe with the jean, OR the boot with a legging or tights. While wearing  the open toe shoe with this outfit, I would choose anything from a red, black, metalic, or purple nail polish, but if you have the tights the polish is non issue, which is a nice option if you don't have time to get a pedicure.
