In a perfect world, no one would be allowed to attend a party without first attempting to plan one of their own, so that they might appreciate the amount of work and worry required and thus show due respect to their host or hostess. Of course such a requirement creates a bit of a paradox, so we cannot expect everyone to know just how maddening the planning process can be. One must simply accept that even guests who can be most gracious as attendees may yet neglect the first and most fundamental part of the invitation: the RSVP.

Our history is made from people recording stories according to his/her particular viewpoint, so everything we learn from history is a tainted version of reality.
This body of work is about war. The process involves gathering numerous photographs from the web dating back to the American Civil War through to the current Iraq War, and then combining them to create a montage. The result is a new image that embodies war’s timeless persecution of humanity.

Sunset, September 18. It was the first day of Rosh Hashanah, but in the SkyLine Banquet Hall of the Space Needle, you might assume that it was the seventh day of Christmas. Blessedly, instead of seven lords aleaping, there were seven mixologists pouring for the Providence O’Christmas Trees Signature Cocktail Contest. Seven local establishments chose one of their bar staff to concoct a cocktail to serve as the signature spirit for the O’Christmas Trees Gala in December. Though each of the entries included Grey Goose vodka, each had its own unique flavor.

There is a glamour often missing from these modern times. It’s a sophistication that largely disappeared with the days of gloved hands, top hats and calling cards. Though it is rarely seen, it is still alive at the polo games.

SubterfugeSeattle was on hand today for a guided press tour of Bellevue's new Neiman Marcus, set to open its doors to the public on September 11. This is not only Neiman Marcus' glorious 41st store but also the first here in the Pacific Northwest. This luxury department store heads up the newest in European, arcade-style street shopping offered up at The Bravern which, many online bloggers are mistakenly assuming is a "shopping mall." However, The Bravern is anything but a mere shopping mall.
